I am an experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor practicing in London where I offer short and long-term therapy.  I also run the counselling service for Hammersmith and Fulham Mind and work directly with companies providing organisational support.  I offer a non-judgemental, supportive and confidential service; a safe place to explore and reflect upon your life and relationships.

My theoretical approach is based on relational transactional analysis with the use of psychodynamic and psychoanalytic theory.  I have training in somatic resonance and emergency trauma containment and treatment. My ongoing curiosity is with early attachment and how this informs our adult relationships.  This keeps me connected with the latest research in neurobiology.  All of this informs me whilst assessing the needs of each client.

Specialism

I work with a lot of actors and other people who have to perform on stage or in front of a camera.  This is partly because of my knowledge of their industry but mainly because of my understanding of how anxiety, depression and trauma can prevent us having control over our bodies in the way we would like.

I work with people who are struggling with all types of life issues and events, some linked to the here and now; people who have been affected by terrorism, workplace bullying or the loss of a loved one and others where traumas experienced in the past are dictating the clients current unwanted thoughts, feelings and behaviour.  Below is a short non-exclusive list of some client issues I regularly work with.

  • depression
  • anxiety and panic attacks
  • workplace issues
  • eating disorders
  • early childhood issues
  • abuse
  • phobias
  • sexuality and sexual identity
  • living with illness
  • bereavement and loss
  • despair and loneliness
  • crisis management
  • post-traumatic stress disorder
  • relationship difficulties
  • age related issues
  • anger issue
  • domestic violence
  • event based trauma
  • infertility
  • self-harm
